Grand National 2024: Sweepstake Guide

How to Run a Successful Sweepstake

Step 1: Determine the Number of Participants

The number of participants will determine the entry fee and prize allocation. For example, if you have 34 people, you could set the entry fee to £5 per horse. If you have 17 people taking two horses each, you could increase the entry fee to £10 per horse.

Step 2: Choose the Horses

Once you know the number of participants, you need to choose the horses. The Grand National is a handicap race, so the horses are assigned different weights based on their previous performances. You can find the list of runners and riders on the official Grand National website.

Step 3: Allocate the Horses

Once you have chosen the horses, you need to allocate them to the participants. You can do this randomly or you can let the participants choose their own horses.

Step 4: Set the Prizes

The prizes for the sweepstake should be commensurate with the entry fee. For example, if the entry fee is £5 per horse, you could award the first prize to the winner and the second prize to the runner-up.

Step 5: Enjoy the Race

On the day of the race, make sure to have a good time and enjoy the excitement. You can watch the race on television or listen to it on the radio.
